Bangladesh team won three silver and three bronze medals in the 13th International Junior Science Olympiad held in Bali of Indonesia recently.

Tahmid Mosaddek of Notre Dame College (scored 84.25 in 100), Fardim Munir (83.85) of Sir John Wilson School and AKM Sadman Mahmud Abir (81.7) of Pabna Zill School are the silver winners.

The bronze medalists are Ahmed Nafis Farhan (69.35) Nasirabad Government High School of Chittagong, Nihal Zuhaer Parosh Miaji (67.8) of Comilla Zilla School, and Miraz Ahmed Saadi (67.65) of BAF Shahin School. 

A total of 276 students of 48 countries took part in this year’s IJSO from 2 December.

Bangladesh University of Science and Technology associate professor Farsim Mannan Mohammadi was the leader of the Bangladesh team sponsored by Al Arafah Islami Bank.

Shahjalal University of Science and Technology professor Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, AAIBL chairman Abdus Samad Labu and managing director Habibur Rahman, Bangladesh Freedom Foundation project director Md Morhsed Alam, treasurer Dr Rezaur Rahman and executive director Sajjadur Rahman Chowdhury greeted the young scientists on the occasion.
