Bangladeshi migrant wins Dh1 million in UAE

A Bangladeshi expat, who is expecting to be a father soon, walked away with a whopping Dh1m (Tk 23 million) after winning in the Al Ansari Exchange Rewards - Summer Promotion 2019 draw held in Dubai on Tuesday, Khaleej Times.

Abdullah Al Arafat Mohammed Mohsin, 30, from Sonagazi City in the Feni District of Chittagong, Bangladesh, bested eight other finalists - two Emiratis, two Filipinos, one Indian, one Pakistani, one Indonesian and another Bangladeshi - for the grand prize. The eight other finalists went home with Dh10,000 each.
The Dh1 million cash prize, contained in a glass box, was given right after away to Abdullah, who told Khaleej Times that he would go straight to the bank to deposit the money in his account.

Abdullah, who has been a Dubai resident for nine years, said he will send home half of the prize money to his wife, who is expecting to give birth to their first child next month, and the rest he will invest to expand his tailoring and mobile accessories business in Naif.
