Now it requires approval from four organisations instead of 16 to pass plan for constructing buildings in the areas under Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK), Chauk and others, UNB quoted housing and public works minister SM Rezaul Karim as saying.

The minister disclosed this while talking to reporters after a meeting at the secretariat on easing the services of RAJUK and Chattogram Unnayan Kartripakkaha (CHAUK).

Earlier it needed 150 days to get approval for a building plan, now it has been reduced to 53 days and it will also reduce the cost, he said.

As per the latest decision, approval of building plan needs-1. clearance for land use. 2. non-objection certificate(NOC) from Civil Aviation Authority (it won't be applicable for those areas where there is no movement of aircraft and a gazette will be required in this regard). 3. NOC from law enforcement agencies for constructing buildings near Key Point Installations (KPI) including Bangabhaban and PMO. 4. NOC from the Fire Service (only for construction of buildings more than 10 stories).

Automation process has been introduced in design approval which will also reduce time, said the minister.

Now anyone will be able to apply for plan approval through online. If the all the requirements are fulfilled, then the online application will be accepted, he said.

The minister said that the manual process will be stopped after 1 May. Then, all the procedures will be completed via online which will reduce unnecessary hassles and presence of middle man.

Besides, drive will be continued against those who will construct buildings violating rules and regulations.
