Cabinet approves Hajj Package-2015

Cabinet has approved Hajj Package-2015 making Machine Readable Passport (MRP) and online registration mandatory for pilgrims, cabinet secretary Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan said at press briefing on Monday.

Mosharraf said online hajj registration will begin on 21 January 2015 and continue till 5 February.

Maximum 1,01,758 pilgrims can go to Saudi Arabia to perform hajj this year. Of them, 10 thousand will go under government management and rest will go under private management. 

The secretary said the cabinet has approved two packages for pilgrims. One have to pay Tk 3 lakh 54 thousand 745 for the first package, and Tk 2 lakh 96 thousand 206 for the second package. Additionally, they will have to pay Tk 10500 for scarifying animal.
