Channel-i presenter Faruqi found dead

Supreme Court Mosque khatib Nurul Islam Faruqi, also a popular anchor of Channel-i television, has been killed in his East Rajabazar residence in Dhaka.
Police and his family said he was found at about 8:00pm on Wednesday with his throat slit.
Police was preparing first information report in the Islamic scholar’s house till filing of this report at about 11:15pm.
His family ruled out any possible cause behind his death. One of his sons said Faruqi had no enemity with anybody.
Police is still in dark about the motive behind the killing.
Faruqi was also an presenter of a programme on Islam at MyTV.
Follwers and fans of Nurul Islam Faruqi went on demonstrations at Muradpur area in Chittagong at night upon hearing the death of the khatib. The protesters reportedly vandalised several vehicles on a road.
