Charge sheet against Oishi accepted, sent for trail

A Dhaka court on Tuesday took the charge sheet against Oishi Rahman into cognizance in the case of murdering her parents.

Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court accepted the charge sheet and sent it to the Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judges Court for trail.

Detective Branch (DB) pressed two separate charge sheets on 9 March indicting Oishi Rahman and three others for assisting and instigating murder of Oishi's parents, special branch inspector Mahfuzur Rahman and his wife Swapna Rahman on 16 August at Chamelibagh in Dhaka.

DB inspector Abul Khair Matubber, also the investigating officer of this case submitted the charge sheets before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Dhaka.

Oishi was charged for killing her parents, while her friends Asaduzzaman, also known as Jony, for instigation and Mizanur Rahman alias Rony for providing shelter, inspector Khair said.

Besides housemaid Khadija Khatun Sumi was named in another charge sheet as her age is under 18 and she (Sumi) will be tried in the juvenile court, confirmed Abdul Khair.

Oishee and her friends are now in jail while Sumi is being kept in a women's cell at Dhaka Central Prison-2 in Kashimpur.

Earlier Oishi and housemaid Sumi confessed their crime before the court.
