Cop beaten for ‘sexually harassing’ woman

A police constable was beaten up by local people allegedly for sexually harassing a woman at Lakshmipur area in Rajshahi on Thursday night, reports news agency UNB.

Quoting witnesses, sub-inspector of Rajpara police station Haider Ali Khan said Sabbir Hossain, a police constable of Paba police station, sexually harassed a woman in the area around 10:00pm.

Hearing screams of the woman, local people caught Sabbir and beat him up.

On information, a team of police from Rajpara police station rushed to the spot and rescued the police constable.

He later was taken to Rajpara police station after primary treatment.
