DCAB forms new committee for 2017

Diplomatic Correspondents Association (DCAB), a professional body of Dhaka-based reporters covering diplomatic issues, has formed a new committee for 2017.
The Daily Star's Rezaul Karim Lotus and Pantho Rahman of Channel-i have been made president and general secretary respectively.
The Daily Sangbad's Salam Jubair was elected vice-president in the election held after DCAB's annual general meeting, chaired by its outgoing president Angur Nahar Monty of Television Channel News24, at National Press Club on Wednesday.
A three-member election commission headed by senior journalist Shafiqul Karim conducted the election.
Mahfuzur Rahman of Jamuna Television was made joint secretary, Nurul Islam Hasib of BDnews24.com treasurer and Jesmine Papri of Banglanews24.com as office secretary.
Other elected members of the executive committee are Masud Karim of the Daily Jugantor, Angur Nahar Monty, Aminul Islam Mirja of BSS, Sanaul Haque of ATN Bangla and Towhidur Rahman of the Daily Janakantha.
