DMP commissioner made CEO of Nat’l Security Affairs Cell

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) commissioner Md Asaduzzaman Mia has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of National Security Affairs Cell under the Cabinet Division.

He has been appointed on contractual basis for the next three years from 14 September, from the date of his joining.

The public administration ministry issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday.

The tasks of the of National Security Affairs Cell include reviewing the problems and activities related to security and defence of the country, reviewing and re-evaluating the state of internal security of the country, directives to take necessary steps about security of the country and sending recommendations, if necessary.

Ministers, state ministers, cabinet secretary, chiefs of three services, secretaries of different ministries, IGP, chiefs of intelligence agencies and a few other persons are the members of the cell, formed in March.

The office of the Cell will be at the Prime Minister’s Office, Asaduzzaman Mia told Prothom Alo.

He will carry out duties in the rank of a secretary.

Earlier, Asaduzzaman Mia was reappointed as the DMP commissioner on contractual basis for the 30 days when his normal time was ended on 13 August.
