DNCC mayor gets minister status

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mayor Atiqul Islam will enjoy the rank and status of a minister, reports UNB.

The cabinet division issued a gazette notification in this regard on Tuesday.

Rajshahi City Corporation mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton and Khulna City Corporation mayor Talukder Abdul Khalek will get the rank and status of a state minister.

The decision took immediate effect, the gazette said.
