End harassment of holidaymakers: Jatri Kalyan Samity

Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samity on Saturday demanded an end to charging extra fares and harassment of homebound passengers during this Eid-ul-Azha, reports UNB.

Mozammel Hoque Chowdhury, secretary general of the Samity, also demanded removal of unfit vehicles and unskilled drivers from the highways.

He was addressing a press conference at Sagor-Runi Hall of Dhaka Reporters Unity in the morning.

Chowdhury demanded removal of all unfit vehicles to make homebound journey safer, smoother and free from accidents.

Transport minister Obaidul Quader on Saturday warned transport owners against charging extra fare, saying that anyone involved in the practice will be punished.
