Family of missing newsman demands safe return

Family members of missing journalist Utpal Das are demanding his safe return, according to UNB.
"I appealed to the prime minister so that my son will return safely, said Chittaranjan Das, the father of Utpal , at a press conference at the office Crime Reporters' Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) in the city on Thursday.
Utpal Das, a senior reporter of online news portal purboposhchimbd.news, has been missing since 10 October.
Chittaranjan Das said his son's mobile phone had been found switched off since after he talked to his mother on 10 October.
He said that they have been passing days with fear and uncertainty. "We want safe return of Utpal", he said.
Chief editor of purboposhchimbd.news, Peer Habib, Utpal's mother Bimola Rani Das, his sister Bobita Rani Das, editor of the news portal Khugesta Nur E Naharin, president of Dhaka Journalists Union (DUJ) Shaban Mahmud and president of Dhaka Reporters Unity Sakhawat Hossain Badsha were also present at the press conference.
Two separate general diaries were registered with Motijheel police station in connection with the incident. One GD was filed by Chitta Ranjan Das, while another by the editor of the news portal Khujista Nur-e-Nahrin.
