Faraaz, Abinta, Ishrat laid to rest

Dhaka attack victims Faraaz Ayaaz Hossain, Abinta Kabir and Ishrat Akhond were laid to rest on Monday evening. 

Faraaz Ayaaz Hossain and Abinta Kabir were buried in the capital’s Banani graveyard while Ishrat Akhond was buried at the graveyard of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) in Gazipur.

The namaz-e-janaza of Ayaaz and Abinta were held at Gulshan Azad Mosque after Asr prayers.

Abinta and Faraaz both were students at Emory University in Atlanta, USA.

Faraaz was the grandson of Latifur Rahman, chairman of Transcom Group and, Shahnaz Rahman, also son of Simeen Hossain, Eskayef Bangladesh Limited managing director, and Muhammad Waquer Bin Hossain.

Abinta Kabir was the granddaughter of Manzur and Nilu Murshed of super store Lavender in Gulshan and also the daughter of Elegant Group official Liakat Hossain.

Ishrat Akhond was the Human Resources Director of one of a garments manufacturing company.

 Faraaz Hossain’s elder brother Zarif Ayaaz Hossain said the Qulkhani of Faraaz will be held on Sunday (10 July) after Asr prayers at their Gulshan residence.

Ishrat Akhond’s body was taken to the Uttara residence and her first namaz-e-janaza took place at the neighbouring Badshahr Tek Jaame mosque in the afternoon.

Later, her body was taken to the BARI in Gazipur for the second janaza and burial.   

Ishrat’s brother Yousuf Akhond said “I have no words to express my grief.”

Her uncle, justice Obaidul Hoque said “Ishrat was a wonderful and talented person. She was loved by everyone.”

Eminent artist Hashem Khan also came to say his last goodbye to Ishrat. He said “The young generation needs to be taught the values of the Liberation War and humanity.”

“We all need to be aware so that the youth cannot be brainwashed by criminals and extremists to avert such incident from happening again,” he added. 

Earlier on Monday morning, prime minister Sheikh Hasina paid her homage to the victim’s of the terrorist attack at Army Stadium and handed Aba
