Govt on high alert against coronavirus: Asaduzzaman

Home minister Asaduzzaman Khan said that government has taken strict monitoring system so that Covid-19, the novel coronavirus that originated in China, does not take hold in the country, reports UNB. 

The minister came up with the assurance Wednesday at a program to hand over a detection machine for the virus at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

A South Korean company, Mico Biomade, donated the machine along with 100 kits to the minister. The company vice president Allen Sco handed over the machine with kits.

The machine has the capacity to test for and detect the presence of the coronavirus or otherwise, as well as other various microorganisms in DNA or RNA, within an hour.

The machine has been donated as a sample. If it is found to work satisfactorily , the government will consider exporting more of the machines.
