Humayun’s birth anniversary celebrated at Nuhash Palli
The 67th birth anniversary of renowned writer and playwright Humayun Ahmed was celebrated at Nuhash Palli in Pirujali village of Gazipur on Frinday.
The event was organised by the family members, followers of Humayun Ahmed along with the employees of Nuhash Palli.
The programme started with lighting candles at 12:01 am.
Sculptor Hasan Mahmud made a mural of the most popular writer of Bangladesh, which was also unveiled on Friday morning at Nuhash Palli.
Humayun Ahmed’s wife Meher Afroze Shaon, singer SI Tutul, poet’s two sons- Nishad and Ninit along with other members of the family were present on the occasion. They also prayed for the departed soul.
Speaking about the writer, his wife Shaon said, “I am remembering him today as I do always. We usually mention ‘late’ before the name of Humayun Ahmed, which is not appropriate. Artistes never perish, and so we don’t mention 'late' before the name of Rabindranath Tagore.”
