Hummam Quader Chy picked up ‘by police’

Members of police's Detective Branch (DB) have picked up executed Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leader Salauddin Quader Chowdhury's son Hummam Quader Chowdhury, alleged Hummam's lawyers.
The police, however, denied the allegation saying they have no information about the arrest of Hummam.
Chowdhury Md Galib Ragib, an assistant lawyer of Hummam's lawyer Aminul Gani Tito told the Prothom Alo that three to four people claiming themselves to be DB members picked up Hummam from the gate of Dhaka Sessions Judge Court around 11:45am on Thursday.
The DB members told Hummam that they had an arrest warrant against him in a case.
"But they could not show the arrest warrant when Hummam asked them to show it. The DB members then picked him up in a white-coloured microbus and left," claimed the lawyer.
The lawyer said he informed the matter of picking up of Hummam to Dhaka's cyber tribunal in writing.
Lawyer Ragib said Hummam went to the court to appear before it in a case in connection with leaking of the verdict against his father Salauddin Quader Chowdhury who was executed on charge of crimes against humanity committed during the country's liberation war in 1971.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) deputy commissioner (media and public relations) Masudur Rahman said they have no information about either the arrest of Hummam or him being picked up.
