Indian navy chief due on Sunday
Chief of the Indian Navy Admiral RK Dhowan, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, ADC will pay a five-day goodwill visit to Bangladesh between 22 February and 26 February at the invitation of Bangladesh Navy Chief Vice Admiral M Farid Habib, NBP, ndc.psc.
According to a press release, Indian Navy chief will be accompanied by his wife Minu Dhowan, also the president of Indian Navy Wives Welfare Association.
To coincide with the visit of the Naval Chief, Indian Navy ship ‘INS Ranjit’ will also pay a goodwill visit to Chittagong Port, the press release added.
The ‘INS Ranjit’ is the third of the five Rajput class destroyers, commissioned on 24 November 1983. During his visit, the Indian Naval Chief will present two Enterprise Class boats to the Bangladesh Naval Academy, Chittagong.
Admiral RK Dhowan’s visit is part of the tradition of regular high-level exchanges between the Armed Forces of both the countries and will enhance friendship and bilateral cooperation between the two neighbouring navies.
