'Islamic State member' held in Dhaka

Detective Branch held a Bangladesh born British national for his alleged connection with Middle East-based militant organisation Islamic State (IS) and Nusra Front.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) mass media branch claimed on Monday morning via a text message that the detained Samiun Rahman Ibne Hamdan was held from Kamalapur Railway area.

A press briefing will be held in this connection at about 11:30am on Monday in DMP media centre, police said.
