Khaleda hosts iftar for professionals

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson Khaleda Zia on Sunday hosted an iftar party for professionals and eminent personalities in the capital on Sunday, the sixth day of Ramadan.

The iftar party was held at International Convention Centre, Bashundhara in the city as reported by the UNB news agency.

Supreme Court senior lawyer Rafique - Ul Huq, former Dhaka University vice chancellor Emajuddin Ahamed, ex-chairman of Bangladesh Public Service Commission ZN Tahmida Begum, ex-cabinet secretary ASM Abdul Halim, former Air Force chief air vice marshal Fakhrul Azam, ex-IGP Azizul Haq, ex-BGMEA president Golam Quddus, News Today Editor Reazuddin Ahmed, Inqilab editor AMM Bahauddin, senior journalists Syed Ishtiaq Reza, Syed Abdal Hossain, Baker Hossain, Pranab Saha, Rahul Raha, Shaheed Chowdhury, lawyers’ leaders Khandaker Mahbub Hossain, Mahbubuddin Khokan, engineers’ leader ANH Akhtar Hossain, Doctors’ Association of Bangladesh (DAB) secretary general AZM Zahid Hossain, educationists Mahbub Ullah, Anwarullah Chowdhury, Sadrul Amin, AFM Yusuf Haider, film director Amjad Hossain, lyricist Gazi Mazharul Anwar, singer Rizia Parvin, footballer Aminul Haq, among others joined the programme.

Before iftar, Khaleda exchanged greetings with the invited guests, including academicians, doctors, engineers, journalists, lawyers, businessmen, retired civil and military high officials, agriculturists and cultural personalities.

A munajat was offered seeking continued peace and prosperity of the country and the eternal peace of the departed souls of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman and his younger son Arafat Rahman Koko.

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Moudud Ahmed, Mahbubur Rahman, ASM Hannan Shah and other leaders of BNP and its front organisations were present.
