The main congregation of Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest religious festival of the Muslims, will be held at the National Eidgah on the High Court premises at 8:00am on the Eid day.

The venue of the main congregation will be shifted to Baitul Mukarram National Mosque at 8:30am in case of inclement weather, said Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sayeed Khokon while visiting the National Eidgah on Monday.

A four-tier security will be put in place to ensure security of the devotees at National Eidgah.

Almost 100,000 male devotees alongside some 5,000 female devotees will be able to offer Eid prayer at the Eidgah, said Khokon.

There will be arrangements of purified drinking water for meeting the demand of water for devotees, he said.

Besides, a machine for preventing lightning strike will be set up outside the Eidgah Maidan, he added.
