Maldives' Aqua Blue Eyes model 'commits suicide' in Rajshahi

The police on Wednesday recovered the body of a female Maldivian model, Raudha Athif, who is known as the ‘Girl with the Aqua Blue Eyes’, from the dormitory of Rajshahi Islami Bank Medical College.

Raudha Athif, 21, who was also featured in Vogue India, was a second year student at the Islami Bank Medical College.

The police and the medical college authorities said Raudha has committed suicide.

The medical college secretary, Abdul Aziz Riad, told the Prothom Alo that the college authorities have already contacted Raudha’s family in Malé of Maldives.

Her father Mohammad Athif is a physician by profession and mother Aminath Muharmimath is a human resource officer in the Maldives.

“Raudha’s family members are supposed to reach Rajshahi tomorrow, Thursday,” said medical college secretary Abdul Aziz Riad.

Dwelling on the possible reasons behind the suicide, Aziz said she was a bit restive in her behaviour. “Otherwise, everything was alright. We are finding no clues for her suicide. The police are trying to unearth the motive behind her suicide.”
