National math festival kicks off

The Dutch Bangla Bank-Prothom Alo Mathematics Festival 2016 has been kicked off on Friday at Dhaka’s Saint Joseph Higher Secondary School premises amid festivity.
The two-day festival was inaugurated by Brother Robi Purification, the headmaster of the school.
Prothom Alo editor Matiur Rahman, professor Zamilur Reza Chowdhury and Dutch Bangla Bank’s managing director KS Tabrez delivered welcome speeches.
About 1300 students are participating in the Math Olympiad this year.
Professor Mohammad Kaykobad, mathematician Munibur Rahman Chowdhury, Scientist Rezaur Rahman, astronomer FR Sarker, psychiatrist Mohit Kamal and other renowned people were present at the fest.
