Minor boy shot allegedly by MP

A minor boy was injured with stray bullets from the pistol of ruling Awami League MP Manjurul Islam Liton at Gopalcharan village of Sundarganj upazila in Gaibandha early Friday, UNB news agency reported on Friday.
The victim was identified as Sourav, 8, son of Sazu Mia of the village.
Locals said stray bullets from the pistol of local MP Manjurul Islam Liton struck Sourav when Liton was going to his Bamondanga village home driving his own car around 5:00am on Friday, leaving the boy injured.
Later, the boy was rushed to Sundarganj Upazila Health Complex and then shifted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
Confirming the incident, Sundarganj police station officer-in-charge Mozammel Haque said they could not know as to how the boy sustained bullet injuries from MP’s bullet.
When contacted, Manjurul Islam Liton claimed he did not shoot any human being.
