Mymensingh now a division

The National Implementation Committee for Administrative Reforms (NICAR) on Monday decided in principal that Mymensingh will be a new division comprising four districts.
Mymensingh, Jamalpur, Sherpur and Netrakona districts will be under the new division.
Tangail and Kishoreganj districts, which were former sub-divisions under the greater Mymensigh district, have not been included in the new division.
Prime minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the Nicar meeting.
Cabinet Secretary Musharraf Hussain Bhuyian told the newsmen the cabinet on 26 January had decided to form Mymensingh division.
Later, Faridpur division and a division comprised of Comilla and Noakhali districts will be endorsed as well, he added.
Musharraf Hussain Bhuyian said Bhandaria upazila of Pirozpur district will be a new municipality. NICAR also decided setting up a new police station dividing Muradnagar Police Station in Comilla district.
The new police station will be named Bangara.
