Chuadanga journalist found dead

Severed body of a Chuadanga-based journalist has been recovered from railway at Sadar upazila on Wednesday morning.

Railway police recovered several parts of the body of journalist Sadrul Nipul, reporter of the daily Mathabhanga, near Mominpur railway station.

Sadrul's mother Emamon Begum and wife Neelima Rahman claimed the incident as "planned murder".

But Poradah police assistant sub-inspector of Government Railway Police and crime scene investigator Khorshed Alam comment the incident as "mysterious".

Sadrul Nipul, a resident of Nilmaniganj of Sadar upazila, beside his personal business worked as Mominpur union correspondent of Daily Mathabhanga newspaper for 20 years.

The family members of Sadrul said he left house on Tuesday night. Mominpur Railway station gateman Rasel Ahmed said he saw Sadrul wandering in the spot at about 11:00pm.

Station Master Nazrul Islam said that he informed Chudanga stationmaster and railway police as he found several parts of the body on the rail line and blood at the station at about 5:00am on Wednesday.

Later the local people identified the body.

Mominpur union council chairman Golam Faruque Jowarder said the incident is planned murder.  The truth will be unveiled, if police can hold the members of drug smuggling gang, which is rampant in the railway station area.
