Online newspapers need to be registered

The Press Information Department (PID) has begun registration process of all online newspapers to ensure facilities to their publishers and also to check yellow journalism, reports BSS.

All publishers of online newspapers have to fill up a prescribed application form and an affidavit, and submit those to the Press Information Department for being registered, an official handout said on Monday.

The publishers of online newspapers have to apply for the registration by 15 December, 2015.

The form and sample of the affidavit are available at protocol branch of PID as well as the department’s website www.pressinform.portal.gov.bd, the handout said.
