Rabbi loses life to bad companions

BBA student Golam Rabbi got introduced to Md Salam at a tea stall at Kalyanpur two months ago. At one stage, Salam offered him drug and gradually made him addict. Later, Salam tactically abducted Rabbi for ransom and killed him with the help of three accomplices at Pabna on 19 September.

RAB mass media wing director commander Mufti Mahmud Khan revealed the story at a press conference at the RAB-4 office in Dhaka Friday noon. Miscreants killed Rabbi failing to get Tk 10 lakh ransom, he added.

RAB arrested Salam's three cohorts — Shahanur Sheikh, 22, Raja Pramanik, 38, and Biplob Moul, 28.

Mahmud Khan said Salam called out Rabbi from his house at Kalyanpur promising to give him yaba on 19 November. Rabbi was strangled to death at night left in a pond. Santhia police recovered the body on 25 November.

Earlier, Rabbi's father lodged complaint with RAB-4 seeking to know where about of his son. He told RAB the abductors, by mobile phone, demanded Tk 10 lakh in ransom.
