Raintree hotel owners to be interrogated

Members of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) will interrogate the owners of Raintree hotel.

A press release from the CIID said ten bottles of foreign liquor were seized from Raintree hotelঠhe hotel authorit could not show any liquor license. The hotel owners will be interrogated for illegal possession of liquor.

The four owners of Raintree hotel are Humayra Harun, Nahian Harun, Adnan Harun, and Mahir Harun, daughter and sons of a member of parliament (MP) of Jhalakathi-1. Mahir Harun is a friend of Shafat Ahmed, son of Dildar Ahmed, one of the owners of Apan Jewellers.

The CIID has summoned all the owners of Apan Jewellers too after its officials seized a huge quantity of gold and diamonds from different outlets of the company.

Businessman Dildar came to the limelight after his son Shafat and friends were accused of raping two university girls at Raintree hotel.

One of the alleged rape victims filed a case with Banani police station on 6 May accusing five people, including Shafat.

The four other accused are Nayeem Ashraf, Shadman Sakif, Shafat's driver Billal and his bodyguard Abul Kalam Azad
