The father of deceased Islami Bank Medical College student and Maldivian model Raudha Athif has said another autopsy of his daughter can be done if it helps the investigation process.

"It's natural a mother won't want her daughter's body to undergo this kind of a process. I don't want that either. However, a fresh autopsy can be done if it helps the investigation," said Mohammad Athif, who is a doctor himself, at a press conference in Rajshahi on Sunday.

The police on 10 April recovered the body of Raudha Athif from the dormitory of Islami Bank Medical College in Rajshahi.

He also said authentic evidence should be presented to prove that Raudha had committed suicide.

"Those who are trying to hide the truth, should be identified and punished," he said.

As a doctor, he said, he could tell there were no signs of death by hanging.

"There were several signs to indicate she had been choked to death by somebody," alleged Dr Athif.
