Shahabuddin Nagari remanded again in murder case

A Dhaka court has placed poet AHM Shahabuddin Nagari and another accused on a four-day fresh remand in businessman Nurul Islam murder case.

The other accused is Nurani Aktar, widow of Nurul Islam. Nurani’s car driver Selim Hossain has been sent to jail by the court.

Dhaka additional metropolitan magistrate Sheikh Samidul Islam passed the order on Sunday.

Earlier, New Maker police station inspector, Matlubar Rahman, produced Shahabuddin Nagari, Nurani Aktar and Selim Hossain before the court, and sought ten-day fresh remand for Shahabuddin and Nurani. 

On 17 April, a Dhaka court placed Shahabuddin Nagari, Nurani Aktar and Selim Hossain on a five-day remand in the case lodged by Nurul Islam’s sister Shahana Rahman.

On 13 April, Nurul Islam was found dead in the bedroom of his flat in Dom Inno Apartment Complex in the capital’s Elephant Road area.
