Shamarukh’s body to be exhumed Wednesday
The body of doctor Shamarukh Mehzabin, daughter-in-law of former Awami League MP Khan Tipu Sultan, will be exhumed in Jessore on Wednesday morning for re-autopsy.
The body will be dug up from Karbala Graveyard in the district town following a court order, said sources at the deputy commissioner’s office.
Following a petition filed by victim’s father Nurul Islam, chief metropolitan magistrate Bikash Kumar Saha of Dhaka on November 25 ordered the exhumation of the body of Shamarukh for re-autopsy.
The body will be exhumed from the grave in the presence of DC Humayan Kabir, police super Anisur Rahman and civil surgeon Atiqur Rahman.
It will be sent to Jessore 250-bed hospital where necessary evidence will be collected for post-mortem. The re-autopsy will be held at the local hospital, and Salimullah Medical College Hospital, and Khulna Medical College Hospital.
On November 13, Mehzabin, wife of Humayun Sultan Sadab, eldest son of Khan Tipu Sultan, was found dead at their Dhanmondi residence in the capital.
