Show-cause notice served to VNSC teacher

The authorities of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College (VNSC) issued a show-cause notice to morning shift in-charge of its Bailey Road branch Zinnat Ara over the suicide of a student allegedly being rebuked by her teachers.

VNSC governing body president Golam Ashraf Talukder told news agency UNB that a show-cause notice was issued against Zinnat Ara and she was asked to refrain from discharging her duties until the probe is completed about the incident.

Besides, the principal of the education institution was asked to explain the matter, he said.

Aritree Adhikari, a ninth grade student of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College, reportedly committed suicide at their Shantinagar residence in the capital city on Monday after allegedly being rebuked by teachers for using mobile phone during examination.
