Sylhet's rail link with Dhaka, Ctg cut off

Train communication of Sylhet with Dhaka and Chittagong remained suspended following the derailment of an intercity train in Kulara upazila in Moulvibazar on Thursday morning, reports UNB.

Nurul Islam, TI of Kulaura railway station, said one of the compartments of the Sylhet-bound Jalalabad Express from Chittagong veered off the tracks around 9:45 am, halting the train communication on Sylhet-Dhaka and Sylhet-Chittagong routes.

On information, a salvage train from Akhaura junction is on way to the spot to rescue the derailed compartment.
