Teenage girl gang-raped in Noakhali

A teenage girl was allegedly gang-raped in a reserved forest in Noakhali's Companiganj upazila on Saturday.

The police arrested two persons in this connection.

The girl, hailing from Feni, went to visit the reserved forest named Musapur Closer, popularly known as mini Cox's Bazar in Companiganj upazila with one Pradeep Shil.

Acting officer-in charge of Companiganj police station Syed Fazle Rabbi said the girl's father filed a case.

Her father alleged his daughter was raped by a man she knew from beforehand and several other local young men in Musapur Closer.

Pradeep Shil, 27, and Mohammad Nazmul Sohag, 25, have been arrested in this connection.

The OC said Pradeep is serving as an Ansar member in Chitagong port while Sohag is a forest ranger in Musapur Closer forest.

Pradeep was produced before the judicial magistrate court in Noakhali on Sunday.

Nazmul is still being interrogated in the local police station and will be produced before the court Monday.
