Voting suspended in 3 Noakhali centres

Voting in two centres has been suspended in Bajra union of Sonaimuri upazila in Noakhali as miscreants attacked and snatched voting materials there.

A group of miscreants snatched eight ballot boxes and other materials from Nawabganj Government Primary School centre around 9:30am.

The group also snatched 10 rounds of bullets and a shotgun from the on-duty members of Ansar.

Presiding officer of the centre then suspended voting there.

Voting in another centre at Paschim Bajra Government Primary School was suspended after attack and spreading violence there around 10:00am.

Executive magistrate Ruhul Amin confirmed Prothom Alo about the suspension.

Earlier, the voting was suspended at a centre in Noakhali-3 constituency as unknown miscreants allegedly snatched away all voting materials.

The voting was suspended at Purba Babunagar Govt. Primary School in Begumganj upazila of Noakhali in the morning, said assistant returning officer Md Ruhul Amin.
