Three killed as train hits auto-rickshaw in Tangail

Two women and a child were killed and five others injured as a train hit an auto-rickshaw at a level crossing in Bhuapur upazila of Tangail on Tuesday, reports UNB.

The identities of the deceased could not be known yet.

The accident occurred at Dapakandi level crossing on Bhuapur-Tarakandi rail line of the upazila at around 11:30 am, leaving the trio dead on the spot, said Faridul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bhuapur police station.

The injured were first taken to Upazila Health Complex. Later, they were shifted to Tangail General Hospital for better treatment, added the OC.
