Four killed in microbus-truck-bus collision in Habiganj

Four people have been killed and five others injured in microbus-truck-bus collision in Habiganj.

The accident took place at Bakharnagar intersection of Dhaka-Sylhet highway at around 3:00pm on Monday.

The deceased are all microbus passengers including the driver. Police, however, couldn't confirm the identities of the deceased.

Shayestaganj thana highway police sources said a microbus with several passengers was heading towards Dhaka. It was raining at the time. The microbus collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction. At the same time, a passenger bus coming from the back hit the microbus. The microbus driver died on the spot while the others died at the Habiganj 250-bed hospital.

Shayestaganj highway thana officer-in-charge Md Saleh Ahmad said it was raining heavily during the accident.

He said four people including microbus driver died in the microbus-truck-bus collision. The injured have been taken to the Habiganj 250-bed hospital, the police official said adding the efforts are on to identify the deceased.
