Commuter train derails in Dinajpur

Railway services on the Dinajpur route have been suspended since Wednesday morning due to the derailment of an express train at Parbatipur rail crossing in Parbatipur upazila of Dinajpur, reports UNB.

Shahidul Islam, station master of Chirirbandar railway station, said that four compartments of Dolonchapa Express veered off the tracks around 4:00am after hitting a stationed truck on the rail tracks.

“A relief train from Parbatipur is conducting the salvage operation,” he said.

No causalities were reported in the accident, Shahidul Islam added.
