Fire ravages 295 shops, houses in Bandarban

A fire that broke out at Thanchi bazar in Thanchi upazila of Bandarban burned down 295 shops and houses on Monday.

Upazila nirbahi officer Ariful Haque Mridul said the fire broke out at a shop of the bazar around 5:00am and spread around soon.

On information, a firefighting unit from Thanchi went to the spot and put out the blaze after one hour of hectic efforts.

Firefighter suspect that the fire might have originated from an oven.
