Another injured student, who was on the microbus while it was rammed by a train in Mirsharai, died in the hospital on Friday, taking the death toll to 12.
The deceased is Ayat Hossain, an SSC examinee. He is also from Khandakia village at Amanbazar in Hathazari.
On 29 July, Chattogram-bound Pravati Express train rammed a microbus that was returning from Khaiachhara waterfall in Mirsharai with 15 students and teachers of RNJ coaching center of Hathazari on board. The train rammed into the vehicle and dragged it about a kilometre away, killing 11 on the spot.
Witnesses and passengers of the train alleged that there was no barrier in place as the gateman was absent during the accident.
