Bangladesh embassy to Maldives gets new HC

The government has decided to appoint Rear Admiral M Abul Kalam Azad as the new high commissioner of Bangladesh to the Republic of Maldives.

Rear Admiral Abul Kalam Azad was commissioned in the Bangladesh Navy on 1 July 1987, a foreign ministry press release on Wednesday, reports BSS.

In his long career, he has served in various staff, instructional and command appointments at different levels. He received the prestigious "Nou Gaurab Padak" for his professional excellence and exceptional service in the Bangladesh Navy.

Lastly, before joining the foreign ministry, he was serving as the commander of Bangladesh Navy Fleet, said the release.
