Bangladesh logs 237 Covid deaths, 10,420 fresh cases in 24 hrs

The number of detected novel coronavirus cases in Bangladesh, according to the government, on Wednesday rose to 13,86,742 as 10,420 more cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

During that time, 237 more Covid-19 patients died, raising the total deaths in the country to 23,398, said a press release of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Wednesday.

Earlier, on Tuesday, Bangladesh recorded the highest 264 deaths in coronavirus disease in a day.

The rate of detection in the last 24 hours until 8:00 am was 23.45 per cent while the overall rate of detection of infected cases in Bangladesh as of Wednesday stands at 16.80 per cent.

The health directorate today said a total of 13,313 people were recovered from the highly infectious disease in the last 24 hours, taking the number of total recovery to 12,48,075.

Of the people died in the last 24 hours, 134 were male and 103 female. Of the total deaths so far, 15,518 were male and 7,880 female.
