Fourteen more patients died of coronavirus and 1,041 people were diagnosed with COVID-19 infection in the last 24 hours as of Thursday.
Additional director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Nasima Sultana made the disclosure at an online briefing on Thursday.
She also said as many as 283 people have died in the country so far while 18,863 people test positive for coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the government is set to extend general holiday till 30 May to tackle coronavirus which has already claimed 283 lives.
Nasima Sultana said a total of 7,392 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. Of them, 1,041 people were diagnosed with coronavirus.
On the previous day, a total of 7,900 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. Of them, as many as 1162 people were diagnosed with coronavirus.
Bangladesh first reported death from coronavirus on 18 March while the first case was confirmed on 8 March.
