Three SPs now sent on 'forced' retirement 'in public interest'

Three superintendents of police were sent into ‘forced’ retirement, said a home ministry gazette notification on Tuesday, days after the information secretary Md Mokbul Hossain met the same fate.

They are: Delwar Hossain Mia and Mirza Abdullah Hel Baki of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and Muhammad Shahidullah Chowdhury of police headquarters.   

The gazette, signed by public security division senior secretary Akhter Hossain, reads they were sent into retirement in public interest in line with the section 45 of the ‘Public Service Act, 2018.     

However, the government hasn’t clarified the reason behind sending the officials on ‘forced’ retirement.
