Don't spoil friendship: Quader to foreign diplomats

The ruling Awami League (AL) general secretary, Obaidul Quader, asked foreign diplomats not to spoil the friendship, adding the government wants friendship as all have mutual transactions.

"We have had friendship with you. We have had sufferings in the past. Even then, we want friendship. We have mutual transactions, after all," Obaidul Quader further said.

The general secretary came up with these remarks on Friday at the AL president office at Dhanmondi in Dhaka.

He said, "Sheikh Hasina will not heed anyone’s remarks, orders or interference. She doesn’t care about anyone except Allah."

Referring to vote rigging, Obaidul Quader said, "You are commenting on our court. What is happening to your countries? Look at yourselves first."
