Metro rail to run from early morning to midnight from July

The metro rail will run every day from the early morning to midnight from July of this year, reports news agency UNB.

MAN Siddique, managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd. (DMTCL), disclosed the information on Thursday.

Currently, the trains are operating from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm on the Uttara to Agargaon route.

“When it will run in full-swing at least 60,000 passengers can enjoy the metro rail service per hour”, he added.

According to the DMTCL, the rail operation up to Motijheel may start by the end of 2024, and Kamalapur by 2025.

By December 2024, the metro rail will start operations from Agargaon to Kamalapur route with 24 trains, he added.
