Eight missing as trawler capsizes in Turag river

The trawler capsized while carrying passengers near the Kylar Ghat Landing Stationat Gabtoli around 5:30am, Amin Bazar river police officer-in-charge Alamgir Kabir told Prothom Alo.

Among the 18 passengers, 10 were rescued, he said. “It is yet to be known how the trawler capsized.”

Speaking to Prothom Alo, fire service control room officer Lima Khanam said they were informed of the incident around 9:00am. Three team of fire service divers are conducting operations to find out the missing people, she added.
