Coaching centres must remain closed too: Education minister

Education minister Dipu Moni on Monday said all coaching centres must remain closed from 18 to 31 March like other educational institutions, to stop the spread of coronavirus outbreak.

The students will have to stay at home during this vacation, she added while talking to newsmen at a press conference in the secretariat.

Earlier, she announced that all educational institutions will be shut down till 31 March as a precautionary measure to avoid the coronavirus outbreak.

At the press conference, the minister also said that the decision on Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations, scheduled for 1 April, will be taken later.

Three more persons were diagnosed with COVID-19 in Bangladesh today, raising the current number of affected people in the country to eight, said director of Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) Meerjady Sabrina.
