Covid claims four more lives in 24 hrs

Four people died of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning, taking the death toll to 29,185, says the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

According to their report, the number of detected novel coronavirus cases in the country rose to 1,984,700 on Wednesday as 1,728 more cases were reported, after testing 10,175 samples, including rapid antigen tests, in the last 24 hours.

The health directorate said a total of 526 people recovered from highly infectious diseases in the last 24 hours, taking the number of the total recovery to 1,909,799.

The rate of detection in the last 24 hours until 8:00 am was 16.89 per cent.

Of the deceased in 24 hours, two were male and two female. Among them, three were from Dhaka and one Chattogram.

Bangladesh detected its first coronavirus patient on 8 March in 2020 and recorded its first death of the disease on 18 March that year.
