The severed remains of five-year-old, Alina Islam Ayat, have been recovered on Wednesday around 3:00 pm, ten days after the child was murdered.
Police recovered the remains from a canal of Bandartila Akmal Ali road area in Chattogram city.
PBI Chattogram inspector Manoj Kumar, also the investigating officer of the case, confirmed the matter to Prothom Alo.
Ayat, the daughter of Sohel Rana, went missing on 15 November while going to a religious seminary nearby.
Ten days later, it was known that a youth, named as Abir Mia, strangled her dead and chopped the body into six pieces.
Then he threw the severed pieces of her body into the sea to evade detention.
Abir Mia was placed on a seven-day remand on Monday in a case filed over the murder.
